Ufa Art Gallery

The Ufa Art Gallery is the main exhibition platform for artists from Bashkortostan. And not because there are the largest halls in the area – 550 square meters. meters in the city center, but because around it, like the planets around the sun, all significant and interesting projects in the artistic life of Ufa revolve. And this is already a tradition.
From 1974 she worked as the Central Exhibition Hall of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The most significant exhibitions of all-Russian and even international scale were held here, such as the “Ural Socialist” or the International Triennial of Printed Graphics, which, by the way, was held for the sixth time last year.
In the dashing 90s, when they tried to put everything they could on a commercial footing, it was very difficult to preserve this stronghold of culture, as it was not generating income. But thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the active position of the creative intelligentsia, journalists who actively defended the gallery, it was possible to keep it. And now it is the main “tribune” of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Bashkortostan, which is, along with the Ufa Administration, its founder.
The main task of the gallery is to promote the creativity of artists of the republic. In her collection are works of famous masters of Bashkortostan A.A. Kuznetsova, A. F. Lutfullina, A.D. Burzyantseva, A.V. Panteleyev and others.
The gallery organizes personal exhibitions of members of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Belarus; all major creative projects of the republic originate here. So, it was here that the Republican exhibition of art works “Fine Arts of the Republic of Bashkortostan”, dedicated to the III World Kurultai of the Bashkirs, watercolor festivals “Watercolor Spring”, sculptural symposia, exhibitions dedicated to the 250th anniversary of Salavat Yulayev, the 425th anniversary of Ufa and a lot others. And although the Ufa art gallery in the circle of connoisseurs is considered a classic, traditional conductor of realistic art, many original creative projects saw the light – the “Scarlet Flower” competition, the “Sunny Path” project, the exhibition “Hunting and Nature” and others.
“We wanted to be urban not only by name, but in essence,” says the director of the Ufa Art Gallery, Alexander Yezhov. – And we are very pleased that the room on Revolutionary Street 34 is used for its main purpose – all exhibitions of the Union of Artists of the Republic are held here, and for artists absolutely free of charge. And we, in turn, without the Union of Artists of the Republic of Belarus do not think of our activities.
In addition, the Ufa Art Gallery is a tribune for young artists. So, in 2011, six exhibitions were held here, where young talents could show their works to the world. Among the largest – an exhibition of works on the results of the Republican children’s and youthful competition to them. AE Tylkina, art exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Ufa Art School, the project “Point of Contact”.
In 1997, the Ufa Art Gallery was accepted into the All-Russian Association of International Cultural and Humanitarian Relations.
In order to have at least a small financial independence, it is planned that in one of the exhibition halls on a commercial basis to exhibit works by invited artists from other regions and to hold exhibitions of classics. In this room, an exhibition of works by Francisco Goya from the Irbit State Museum of Fine Arts, which houses the largest collection of graphics by this artist. Negotiations are underway with representatives of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts on the organization of exhibitions.
So, as before, meetings with true samples of classical art will take place here, in the Ufa Art Gallery, in the center of the city, 34 Revolyutsionnaya Street.
