George Nyssky. Laconic and poetic landscapes of the 20th century.
Planes fly over the fields. The locomotives run along the paths. Ships and yachts cut the waves. The highway is calling for a way. And next to them quiet spruces sleep, the night sky hangs, the sunset path connects the shores of the harbor bay. Some pictures are romantic emotion. Others – lyrical softness, the most subtle shades of human experiences. If we consider the works of Nyssa in chronological order, then among the ones performed recently one can see those in which both these principles are closely intertwined and mutually penetrate. As a result, a completely new artistic image is created, sounding a wide epic poem about the Motherland. Continue reading
Landscapes Shishkin I. I. Russian forest in the paintings of the famous artist.
On January 13 (25), 1832, the future outstanding Russian landscape painter, painter, draftsman and aqua-formatist Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin was born 180 years ago.
Shishkin was born in the small town of Yelabuga, on the banks of the Kama River. The dense coniferous forests surrounding this city and the harsh nature of the Ural region conquered young Shishkin. Continue reading
Yuon Konstantin Fedorovich – artist, decorator
Konstantin Fedorovich Yuon – a representative of the older generation of Soviet painters. His creative activity began in the pre-revolutionary years. And then the name Yuon-artist gained fame.
He belongs to the circle of those masters whose activities were a link between the Soviet artistic culture and Russian advanced pre-revolutionary art. Having absorbed the best traditions of the full-blooded Russian realism of the 19th century, Yuon entered Soviet art as an artist with a wide creative range, giving his people the talent of a painter, theatrical decorator and teacher, the inexhaustible energy of a public figure, his knowledge of an art historian and theorist.
